Yea I mean it's just a hobby anyway. People want to make so much money so that they can pursue their hobbies, do more shit etc. End of the day the goal is to have fun and enjoy your time. If that's lifting, then who cares? It can be lifting, it can be traveling, getting drunk, getting high, having sex, fapping, skydiving, working on a car, playing soccer, and so on.
Doesnt matter what you do if you enjoy it since that's the ultimate purpose in life.
From my success (and growing success) in lifting, it is enjoyable to do something that only ~1% of the population could ever achieve if they pursued it. If you do make it to the top, win, set records etc it can be an awesome experience. Meanwhile other guys are at the bar or on pornhub
